After Care for Surgery.
According to Chinese custom there are a few things you must not eat after surgery. I’ve collected the following, but if you know of anything else, please please please let me know.
1. No Beef
2. No Shellfish
3. No Ginger
4. No Eggs
5. No Alcohol
6. No Chillies ( ?? I think )
7. No Duck
8. No Sour (Acidic things)
9. No Bamboo Shoots
I’m trying to make nutritious meals for Hubby while he’s on the mend, and because Masterchef Australia is back on, I feel totally inspired.
Claypot Rice with Smooth Chicken and Preserved Pork Sausage
650 gram chicken pieces marinated with:
1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 Tbsp light soya sauce, 1Tbsp cornstarch, 1/2 Tbsp oil.
Prepare 320g of rice, wash and rinse and place in Claypot, add 350g water. Cover and turn on heat. Cut 2 preserved pork sausages. When the rice has absorbed all the water, arrange the pork and chicken pieces on top. Cover and cook for another 20 mins. Take off heat and pour sauce on top before serving.
Sauce: 1tsp sugar, 1Tbsp dark soya sauce, 1 Tbsp light soya sauce, 1 Tbsp water.
Delicious winter warmer.
